25 Sunday B : Become like a little Child

 Michel DeVerteuil
Textual Comments
Today’s passage is in two sections:
– a narrative which gives the context of the entire passage (verses 30-32);
– two teachings on humility, both woven into dramatic narratives (verses 33-35 and 36-37) which flow from the previous teaching.
As usual, we are free to take each section separately, or then we can see an inner logic between them.

Bl.. Moreau - Holy Cross- Videos - Prayer Service

Moreau: Mystery of the Cross

(R) Redeem us and make us redeemers by the mystery of the Cross

1)         Living the example of Jesus Christ, fidelity to our commitment as religious, will lead to the cross. Father Moreau writes: "Jesus himself told us that following him is reduced to three things: renouncing ourselves, taking up our cross, and walking in his footsteps. The cross is not merely a possibility in religious life, nor even a probability; it is an inevitability.

2) God, you who called the world into being, you who created women and men and set them free to live in love, in obedience and especially to those of us  called to live in the religious community of Holy Cross, grant a deeper insight into the mystery of the cross, we pray

Exaltation of the Cross

1.     Fr. John Speekman:

 The Triumph of the Cross - Year A
Numbers 21:4-9; Philippians 2:6-11; John 3:13-17

The Cross in our lives usually occupies the same space we put all the other unpleasant, unwanted things – disappointments, hurts, humiliations, failures - all the burdensome things we don't want to remember, all the broken relationships and sufferings of our lives. Needless to say it's not a pleasant spot to go; it's a dark, uncomfortable place, to be avoided at all costs.

Apple Story: From Whatsapp Community

A lovely little girl was holding two apples with both hands.

Her mum came in and softly asked her little daughter with a smile; my sweetie, could you give your mum one of your two apples?
