The reflection below is on the second part of the reading – verses 16 to 21 –a story of how Jesus read the Bible and how he wants us his followers to read it (and teach it).

God has revealed to us his kindness and love
in Jesus Christ our Savior
by saving us through the cleansing water of rebirth
and by renewing us with the Holy Spirit.
May the Lord Jesus be always with you. R/ And also with you.

A Lexophile

"Lexophile" is a term used to describe those who are clever with words, such as "you can tune a piano but you can't tuna fish" , or "to write with a broken pencil is pointless."

Maths Teacher

Teacher Arrested At London Heathrow Airport - held in isolation. -- News headline
A secondary school teacher was arrested yesterday at London's Heathrow International airport as he attempted to board an international flight while in possession of a ruler, a protractor, a pair of compasses, a slide-rule and a calculator.

Billy Graham's Daughter

Billy Graham's  daughter was interviewed on the  Early Show and  Jane Clayson asked her "How could God let  something like this happen?" (regarding the  attacks on Sept, 11, hurricanes and earth quakes. Anne Graham gave  an extremely profound and insightful  response. She said "I believe God is deeply saddened by  this, just as we are, but for years we've been  telling God to get out of our schools, to get  out of our government and to get  out of our  lives.

In a church one Sunday morning a preacher said,
 "Anyone with 'special needs' who wants to be prayed over, please come forward to the front of the altar."

There are some words which we take for granted and even use for granted.

Yet when we think about it deeper, those words just don't make any sense.
